Top Tip:
Think about what you eat. Where did your food come from? How did it end up on your plate? It’s really easy to make a difference by starting to think about what you’re putting on your plate everyday.
So, the next time you visit your local grocer or supermarket, do make a small effort in reading the labels. Make the wise choice by selecting in-season, local fresh produce, where available.
When you’re dining in the restaurant, ask the waiter where the seafood come from, how the chicken was bred and select local wine from the wine list.
Not only you’ll help reduce food miles, which is one of the biggest (unnecessary) contribution to carbon emissions, you’ll also support and protect local jobs, while cultivating a reputable local food culture.
